Based in Nashville and newly signed to SMACKsongs, Owen Waidley is an artist whose songwriting sounds like the foundation of a real career — someone who's turned what he's overcome into the thing that makes his music worth listening to. Drawing inspiration from artists like the Rolling Stones, The Beatles, and Joshua Sloan, the California native has a way of turning hard-won lessons into songs that feel lived-in from the first line — the kind of songwriting that comes from going through something, not just observing it from a distance. His recent collaborators include Nathan Chapman, Emily Falvey, Canaan Smtih, Charlie Barstow, Jon Green, Pete Good, Dylan Guthro and more.
